Whitepapers

When you really want to get your hands dirty in a topic. Whitepapers are always a fun challenge for me. Doing them well means loving the research as much as the result. And that's me.

WHITEPAPERTECHNICAL

Process Intelligence for AI Agents

After the success of my first whitepaper with Bloomfilter, they came to me for a second. This time, the focus was on how getting value out of AI tools will require process intelligence. Making a coherent case for this first required me to break down the larger context in which AI now exists, then diving into the technical aspects of how process intelligence and AI integrate with one another. As if this wasn't a big enough challenge, I only had four days to do it!

But (5,000 words later) I pulled it off! The resulting ebook was printed up and handed out at Celosphere 2025.

CARONOVA

Mental Wellness Through Schools Toolkit

Improving access and approaches to mental health is one of CaroNova's primary goals. This is especially true when it comes to children, who are particularly vulnerable to mental health challenges yet often lack the support they need. To help change this, CaroNova developed a behavioral health framework that gives teachers and educators a step-by-step guide to identifying needs and offering effective help.

CaroNova wanted this framework to be a resource schools could download and use on their own, independently of any outside organization. To help make their research as accessible as possible, they asked me to rewrite, reformat, and restructure it. I worked closely with CaroNova's SMEs to reimagine this framework so that even those unfamiliar with behavioral health approaches could understand and use it.

SAS

Risk Modeling & Decisioning

In this whitepaper, I explored the challenges banks face with current risk modeling and decisioning strategies, then aligned these challenges with SAS solutions. This project was one of three whitepapers I was commisioned to write. I built it out from scratch based on an extensive amount of research and SME interviews.

CLOUDERA

Gaining Control Over Your Data Lifecycle

Cloudera's claim to fame is its ability to simplify how you view, analyze, and manage your data. That said, data can quickly become a complex topic. In this whitepaper, I broke down three key ways you can gain control of your data lifecycle, specifically highlighting how Cloudera's Shared Data Experience (SDX) has everything you need.

AMD

Hält die GPU Noch Mit? (How Much Can a GPU Withstand?)

Factories don't just use LCD screens anymore. HD panels, HMI touch screens, and complex setups like augmented reality have all become normal. This has increased the need of GPUs in industrial organizations.

AMD wanted to present some of their latest breakthroughs in this field as part of their efforts to expand into the German industrial space. I got to interview several of their engineers and write up a detailed piece that touched on the historical context of GPUs, essential considerations when sourcing GPUs for industrial applications, something called bi-directional power management, and a whole lot more.

This piece was published in the German magazine Elektronik and reached a subscriber base of around 90,000. Don't happen to speak German? Here's a PDF of the original article.

SAS

Integrated Balance Sheet Management

In this whitepaper, I examined the common challenges banks face when managing risk in today’s environment, then I outline specific steps banks can take to build a more integrated and effective balance sheet management strategy. Like the risk management paper, this also involved an extensive amount of research and interviews.

BLOOMFILTER

Process Mining the SDLC

When Bloomfilter partnered up with Celonis, an innovator in process mining, they wanted to make a different sort of announcement. Seeing that Celonis already had a pretty slick Process Mining for Dummies book, Bloomfilter decided to release a version focused specifically on process mining the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Idea in hand, I got to work. I built this whitepaper up from a series of interviews and in-depth research into the history and processes of software development. After printing it out for a conference and watching it get downloaded many, many times, it's safe to say the result turned heads.

SAS

Anti-Money Laundering

In this whitepaper, I do a deep dive into the limitations of many banks' current anti-money laundering (AML) strategies then present a five-step process for modernizing these strategies from the ground up. The goal here was to give banks a comprehensive process for improving their AML process so that they can prepare themselves for AI.

This whitepaper is new, so I'll update with a link once it's published!
